Seodaemun Prison History Museum (서대문형무소역사관)
Visiting a prison doesn’t normally hit high on my agenda, I visited the Seodaemun Prison and felt history in a very different way. This prison is where the Japanese tortured and executed Korean freedom fighters. I went there and felt more connected to Korea, a place that I call my second home. I felt the fear, the ghosts of the past and history itself.
You can explore the prison and realize the pain and hate this place once held, now it stands to remind us of the past and sits aside an ever-blossoming Seoul City and a symbol that Korea has risen.
