The latest mastermind of the Shinsegae is Starfield Goyang which includes a handful of international brands, a long list of amazing Korean brands and even a fantastic new spa. I would highly recommend a visit and it is easy to get to (address: 경기도 고양시 덕양구 고양대로 1955)
The flowery Moseley suburb of Birmingham, a popular place to call home and offers a handful of bars, restaurants and shops to local resident and visitor alike.
One of my personal favorite cafes is Maison Mayci, located next to the Sainsbury’s Local it offers a comfortable atmosphere, great food and coffee.
It is a French owned business.
Exploring Budapest is a very easy activity, the city is very walk-able and offers a fantastic metro.
Budapest was an amazing experience, it felt such an innocent and special place. It was a calm place and where you can go to relax and feel relaxed.
Is Deoksugung Palace which is located right next to the City Hall and main Lotte Department Store in the heart of Seoul, this location is very romantic and should be visited during the day or for a romantic evening stroll (at night), it is open some evenings!
I have pictures from the evening on this blog – so please check it out!
Some snaps during the day
My favorite tourist location is Seoul has to be Gwanghwamun. This is the number one location that tourists will flock to on arrival and a historical location, this is where the people of Korea protested to remove their former President, President Park who is currently in jail awaiting the final decision and suffering a bad toe.
For me, Gwanghwamun is where my husband proposed to me –
Exploring the LotteWorld’s , as it was our Wedding Anniversary we decided to venture across the lake by our home to visit the Hotel that we can see from our window at the top of this massive building.
The staff at the elevator at the base of the tower, were very friendly and helpful. We took the elevator up into the 80s and it took seconds, ear popping and’all.
We arrived on the bar floor with the plan to check out Korea’s heavenly bar on the 81F, Bar81 certainly offers a great selection with some pretty awesome prices.. but in all honesty, I’ve been to the Grand Hyatt and enjoyed their ‘Cloud9‘ bar and the view is just as awesome but the prices are at least logical, 15,000 – 10GBP a sprite, 19,000 a coffee – 12 GBP and as for the drinkies..?
We passed on the drinks and headed to the toilets, automated and plush and then the stairwell view was divine.
After, we headed down to the lounge on the 79F which was certainly stylish and the view amazing.
I took a look at their website and their offers look great, I do wonder why a two person room only comes with a Evian Spa body treatment for one?

The Grounds of Alexandria was one of our first stops in Sydney, ironically we bumped into a good friend from Korea who had just landed.
This unique location is a former industrial area that was a very different place back in the 1920s.
Fast forward to the present, the site is home to an amazing coffee roastery, cafe and sustainable garden – the livestock are very active and cute!
The coffee is awesome and the food is delicious and tempting, get ready to rock those calories!
So, if you head down under.. you know where to go!

Gwangyo is the last station on the highspeed ‘ShinBundangLine’ in Seoul. The new town is a quiet suburban little place, it has a wide range of coffee shops and spots waiting to be filled, there is a university which breathes life into the area whose main residents are young families who work and shop in the area but don’t make much sound, leaving the area to be quiet.
It is a place that I called home for a year, I did enjoy the quiet life that it offered as long as I had frequent trips to Seoul, Pangyo or Jeongja for a bit of life!
‘Penny Lane’ opened shortly before I headed back to Seoul, it is a stylish and very photogenic cafe. The design work put into the cafe really sells the place!
The food and coffee works up a storm!
It feels so ‘city’ like, so unique and cries for attention!
Stylish and friendly!
Delicious and divine!
and ready for a photoshoot!
Come and try, read more about their design and style – here
On the advice of a certain someone, I tried some of the latest products from Starbucks Korea and it was well worth it (I had some calories missing after spending two weeks working with kids!).
The Caramel Sand was my favourite (카라멜 샌드) with the brownie coming close (진한 초콜릿 브라우니).
